One of the things that amazes me, even growing up on Bull Mountain, is that it never had a park, that is until last year when Elizabeth Price Park was introduced. Granted, when I grew up on Bull Mountain, it wasn’t a spot for larger homes and two Street of Dreams neighborhoods.

But, even with the Street of Dreams being first put on Bull Mountain in the mid 1990s, for some reason the community still avoided having a park put in. Well, today they have a park, but to most who drive by it daily, you will notice one thing missing from Elizabeth Price Park and that would be kids and parents.

What? A park without kids and parents, how is this possible? It seems the City of Tigard in their infinite wisdom of putting a park on Bull Mountain decided to put all around the park these beautiful “NO PARKING” signs! You have to walk about 1/3 of a mile to another residential neighborhood to find a place to park and no parent I know wants to walk 1/3 of a mile up a steep hill with children when they can drive ¼ of a mile more and park at the school and use the school playground on evenings and weekends and that is exactly what everyone does!

Now, I do have to say we made the trek and it is a nice park, but was it worth it vs driving the extra ¼ of a mile to the school? No, we won’t be going back to this park, but rather head to the school to play where if it does start to rain, we have cover and can still play catch or wall-ball.

Agent Clark -
Look out! It looks to me like you are being followed.
Every time you visit a park, the same suspicious kids seem to be present.
I hope you are looking over your shoulder often.
Todd,
I think that someone in the neighborhood needs to take the Bull (mountain) by the horns and push for changes, someone like a popular Realtor that has a voice....hmmmm, can you think of anybody?
Todd, the city should hire you as the Park Inspector for families...you hit it right on the nose & what a great news column that would be for your brokerage to point out some of the 'craziness' the cities & towns do when they put in a park..NO parking signs...give me a break!
I agree Todd! Part of the appeal of a public park is accessability...what WERE they thinking?!
And that is a shame because it looks really nice, but I can't imagine no parking. That does not make sense, maybe they will rethink this and try to accommodate parking.
Jim, I'll start to watch my back more, you are right, I just went through my pictures and these are the same kids and they have been following me for years! I got so nervous yesterday that I decided to look behind be while driving and there they were right behind me following me ever turn of the car.
