Why won’t anyone get near me? Don’t be unapproachable!

I just want someone to like me

Are you unapproachable? What impression do you give off when someone first meets you?
If you were that other person, would you come and talk to you? Most people don’t like talking to strangers, which is a fact! But, by walking with arms crossed frown on your face are you coming off as prickly as this little guy?

What if there was a way you could search the  MLS for FREE just like Realtors

Now you can access the MLS using similar tools as Realtors. You are in control of what you want to search for, and you can search the MLS at your leisure. The information you submit in the form below can also be used to put you on an automated system where you'll be emailed all homes that meet your search criteria. You'll get internet access to a website that includes pictures, prices, and addresses to real estate that's listed in the MLS!

Good point.  Oh well I'm unapproachable.  You can't make everyone happy right?  I get that so much that I intimidate people but what am I to do, throw on a pair of torn up jeans and suck on a ice cream shake?  You have to do you and not look back I think. . .

Todd, that's funny. I never cross my arms, not even on the infamous "Real Estate Agent" arms crossed photos... But a smile goes a long way............ ;)

LOL@Lauren! I don't do the crossed arm REALTOR® photo either. Never cared for that look. Am thinking the torn jeans and shake idea that Tni had sounds great! ;)

Good topic. Don't do the crossed arms. Smile sometimes, usually at someone who is also smiling!

Always ask questions and list to the answers.  That will win most over.

Hi Todd,

Good little post.

Approachability is usually the first key to meeting someone you don't know.

Make eye contact, then smile, and take the first step toward the person you want to meet. Works every time.

I try to be open and friendly. Now I have another thing to worry about...

Great Point. It is easy to forget we are always in public.  We put our photos on everything so we are easily recognizable, perhaps too recognizable.  I'm ot sure I like being "on stage" all the time.

You have to make yourself approachable!

My FLI pin worked for years because it was different.

These days you need to be more aggressive.

I'm approachable fore...

What?  no one likes to hug a cactus?  Very astute way of making your point!

All you have to do is smile and be genuinely interested in others.  (Unless they are telling you something heart-wrenching...like why they have to sell the home of their dreams because of job loss, death, divorce, etc.) It makes a world of difference.
