Living Tigard - Your guide to everything Tigard

Doesn’t get a lot of mail, but it sure sends out a heck of a lot

The Bridal Veil Post Office is a small little post office in the town of Bridal Veil. Bridal Veil doesn’t have much, the fact is all it has left is the post office, a cemetery and a church. This town doesn’t have a lot, but the post office sure is busy!

Bridal Veil, Oregon Post Office

Why is this post office in this basically a ghost town of a city so busy? Well, the name of course! You see brides drive from hundreds of miles around to have their wedding invitations post marked with the Bridal Veil post mark.

Seems like a crazy tradition, but even my sisters did it and drove the 40 miles to have it done. So, if you are getting married and are about to mail out your wedding invitations, I invite you to head to Bridal Veil in the Gorge near Multnomah Falls and have your special invitations mailed out.

That is one of the craziest things I've heard lately.

That's crazy!  It's amazing the things people will do in the name of a perfect wedding :-)

Todd - Some brides will go to great extents for their weddings, I'm curious how many recipients actually pay attention to the post mark.

That is a cool name for a town and I can see the attraction it would hold for local brides. Fun stuff Todd!

Don't we all love traditions? If my daughter would have seen this I would have driven there for her. Her wedding was a success because of love and tradition, as will your daughter's wedding when the time is right!

Todd, what a fun fact.  I don't plan to get married but maybe when I get wedding invitations I can send the RSVP from this post office.

Such a neat little tidbit of history Todd. And, it's so much better than driving to Intercourse, PA to have their wedding invitations postmarked there!

Bridal Veil now that's a catchy name.  Hard to believe it would be a Federal offense to rob that place Todd.

Hi Todd, This was a very neat post. Laughing out load a Craig's comment. I am sure the Bride's to be around the world would much prefer to Bridal Veil for their post mark. But then again, maybe they don't know about the alternatives, LMAO

A Bridal Veil post mark ads that special touch to a invitation for the brides magical day.  Nice post for Localism.

What a fun tradition!  They should let the brides know about the North Pole, CO post office when they're ready to send out their Christmas cards!  And Craig -- you're hilarious!

Craig, you had me laughing so hard when I saw your comment come across my IPhone! You write that post and I'll watch for it my friend. You would think that post office would be somewhere closer to the IRS headquarters though.
