I enjoyed this book. It was
about a girl named Kristine and her family who lost their horse,
Dandy. After that Kristine never wanted to love another
pet again. But her dad surprises her and gives her the last thing she
wanted
for her birthday... a new puppy! With a baby sister on the way, why
should she need to take care of a puppy?
After a couple of weeks in their house with the puppy, a new fence was being put up. During this, Kristine went to go feed Mattie (the puppy's name). Mattie kept jumping up onto her leg and Kristine was wearing shorts. To get away from the puppy so she wouldn't get scratched, Kristine ran to the door, and the door closed on Mattie's leg. It broke her leg, but the vet said that it was a clean break and would heal nicely. For 2 weeks Mattie avoided Kristine, and for Kristine, that made it easier to not like her.
After the second trip to the vet, Mattie forgot how dangerous Kristine was so Kristine started training her. When the door slammed shut on Mattie's foot there was a turkey bell on the door and now Mattie is scared of the bell. Kristine decided to use the bell to help train Mattie.
After a while Kristine wants to show off how well she has trained Mattie, but when everyone was out, there Mattie was... too busy playing with them to pay attention to Kristine. To get her to listen, eeryone went inside and watched out the window. She had to use the turkey bell to get her attention. When she went inside to see how everyone felt about the training, everyone ran out the door. Kristine chased them to find out why they were leaving, but she wishes she hadn't.
To find out why, I'll let you read the book.
I really enjoyed it.

Meesha -
Training a pet is a lot of work....sort of like doing a book review every Friday: It's fun, but it's still work.
Nicely done Meesha and thanks for sharing. I like your writing style. I'll have to check out the book!
Meesha, sounds like an interesting book. I like how you left us wondering why the girl's friends ran off.
Meesha, says she would like to thank everyone for stopping by and hope the kids you buy the books for really do enjoy them as much as she has. She also says because of the holidays, that she will be cutting back on the reviews to maybe once every two weeks instead of every week, like she has been doing.
