No good deed goes unpunished, but I still would do it again

No good deed goes unpunished! I believe that is how the saying goes. This morning despite feeling very very sick, I got be in court because of my good deeds a couple weeks ago. What happened? Well, I came across a lady in a parking lot that was hiding behind her car and looking very scared. She didn't see me, but I saw her from across the parking lot.

I went over and asked her if everything was alright. She told me that she was being stalked by her ex-husband who had a restraining order against him. Then within 30 seconds of that here he came around the corner and slammed on his breaks in front on the street in front of us and gave her the middle finger and drove off.

Court

I told her to call the police and I thought that would be the end of it, but this wonderful gentleman decided to come back twice more and the police requested I stay as a witness and that is when last week I was nice enough to get a subpoena for my troubles.

So for my trouble, I get this wonderful Subpoena from the courts and now it looks like because I put so much effort to be in court that I'm going to have to go back to the emergency room today, because clearly I was not ready to get out of bed. So remember this next time you try to do a good dead for someone it may end up being a large pain in your _____. Now, would I do it again? Of course, but today I'm just frustrated.

Todd:  I'm glad there are good samaritans like you running around.  I did something similar a few years ago.  Called in a hit and run to the police.  Wish I had remember that my cell phone had a camera.  Would have been a slam dunk for the owner of the parked car that got damaged.

Todd,

Sorry to hear your sick but it is important to do the right thing, which you did.  It's unfortunate that you are paying a price for it.

Yeah Todd, but imagine how much more punishing the lives of others are every day... I always knew that you must be a nice person. Get some rest and feel better. --Sara

Todd - Gosh, my father says that QUOTE  "ALL" the time......  I know you are feeling like crap, but you did a very good thing.  I hope the lady appreciates it - but you just never know.  It's the little (big) things like that will help you score points upstairs  :)

Todd,

We do good deeds, not because they're convent, but because there's a need we can fill and someday we might be in need!

I'm proud of what you did. I like the title. I'll consider your health and forget the attitude.

Todd...            Omg...what a wonderful man you are!  It was the thought and the good deed that counts.  My husband got a subpoena to our neighbors divorce proceedings.  He was on the stand not even 30 seconds, the wife's lawyer wanted to know if the husband's girlfriend at that time was sleeping over at his house.  What a joke!  Needless to say, he was torqued for a few days like yourself. :)

Where you a boy scout?  Sounds like it.  Anyway, you may have been able to call in and offer telephone testimony...I know there are circumstances here in California where this will apply...just in case there is a next time.

Way to got Todd... you should always stick up for those that aren't able to stick up for themselves.  Even with all the trouble.
