On
Friday, I decided that even though I have over 2000 blog posts all
working for
me on Google, that there had to be a way to do more. How
can I make Google love
my blogs even more and also build business?
So, after 2000 posts
without any help from anyone else, I reached out to a
couple mortgage professionals and I will be reaching out to a few more
here in
the next couple days. I've asked them to be contributors
to my outside blogs.
Not with technical stuff, but just stuff about the community that I may
not
have been to yet, or heck, may never go to.
This does two things.
One, it increases the content on my outside blogs and it
also increases their exposure to thousands of new clients
they may have never
met without the Google juice that my outside blog provides.
My question to you is,
who do you think they are going to send a potential lead
to if they are looking for an agent? I'm hoping they
choose me, but it is all
about networking and I'm going to use my Google juice to expand my
network as
much as possible!
What are you doing to get more business? Reach out, network, you have the power with Activerain if you only will use it! Now if you are a local businessman and would like to learn how to use my network to expand your business, please don't hesitate to call me, I would love to help promote Beaverton and / or Tigard areas.

What if there was a way you could search the MLS for FREE just like Realtors
Now you can access the MLS using similar tools as Realtors. You are in control of what you want to search for, and you can search the MLS at your leisure. The information you submit in the form below can also be used to put you on an automated system where you'll be emailed all homes that meet your search criteria. You'll get internet access to a website that includes pictures, prices, and addresses to real estate that's listed in the MLS!

Great move on your part, Todd! Networking is very important and some of us don't do enough. ;o)
Todd, I tried this with some mortgage professionals, even helped set up their profiles, but they still haven'[t written a post.
I'm delving more into my sphere of influence. I've come up with 2 wholesalers who will be doing business right away.
Been blogging about local businesses. Slowly. It's time-consuming to do it right, but making some great connections.
Todd, I've been moving in the same direction. It's great to share the Rain.
Great way to expand you visibility and add to the network.
Hi Todd -- That is a brilliant idea and these types of ideas always seem so simple. Genius!
Todd,
This is a great way to expand your network, your reach and also to help other people.
Right on Todd... great idea. I really look forward to talking to you about it...
Hi Todd~ I like your idea about improving your business and others through networking! Great way to pay it forward too!
This is a great idea Todd... Getthe Mortgage lenders involved in your outside blog.
It is good to see that some people actually recognize the Mortgage Pro as a valuable part of their team. LOL
Fantastic idea I may use it also if thats ok..
I really believe in partnerships - and reciprocal business relationships. I am excited to see that you do to and I know that your proposal is going to yield amazing results!!!
Todd,
Great idea. I find that there are not too many people out there who like to write. I guess if you ask enough people, you're bound to find a frustrated writer or two who would love the opportunity to contribute to a well-established blog.
Good idea to reach out to other professionals. Sounds like this can be a good "win-win" arrangement and one that I'll need to do as well.
Sounds like an excellent idea -- the problem in my world is many of the affiliates do not either like to write, nor have the time.
ill bet after i learn how to do more on here that will be a great idea!!!!
Hi Todd - You've really cranked it up since June, averaging about four posts per day. I think it's a wise move to bring the mortgage reps online with you, and will probably bring some life balance along with the additional content.
Thanks Todd. I feel the same way and am getting closer to announcing my program to network more with Realtors. Too bad I'm not in your neck of the woods ;-)
I don't know Todd, I am going to pass on that.
Steve
Todd, I have asked some mortgage comnpany people to contribute but i am still waiting. We dpn't have mortgage people bloggers in Oklahoma City, but we do have some with twitter accounts. I am setting up this week a Twitter News network whihc will aggragate local Twitter feeds, that will be a part of my social media outreach.
I have three area mortgage contributor and one out of the area (but writes stuff that is pertinent to my location) I can't tell you HOW MUCH this has helped every part of my blogging business. One client even asked for the out of area "FHA MORTGAGE EXPERT" to do her loan (which I had to explain that he couldn't, wasn't licensed for us, LOL!"
Yes, networking is key, within the industry and locally at the small business level. If you can get RE pro to contribute to your blog, you will benefit by increasing your number of posts and keywords on Goggle. Keywords that you might never have used.
I've yet to maximize my outside blog this way, but great idea. Now just to find someone I trust enough! :)
It's a great idea...now...finding mortgage professionals that can and will write...hmmmm...I have encouraged some to even cut and paste their newsetters to a blog...waay tooo much effort for them...good luck...let us know if you find some willing lenders.
Excellent idea, I have asked a few lenders here to post a certain blog they wrote here out there.
I am going to have each of my team members write on one subdivision for our next meeting. It will be helpful to the community and help them really dig into a subdivison.
You know as I keep reading about AR's reach it makes me wonder if the old 80/20 rule couls evolve to 95/5 !!!!!!!
Todd, I hope this works out! I have tried with two mortgage professionals and they have dropped the ball on me. :-( Hopefully your people are very motivated to write and understand the power of what you do -- because there aren't many who do it better than you! Good luck! Use that juice!
I hope your experiment works out, Todd...Keep us informed!
Hey Todd, every bit helps and it sounds like it sure couldn't hurt. As far as getting referrals from the contributing mortgage brokers, don't know what its like where you are, but up here it appears they give out referrals to the Agents that gives them the most financing deals. Good idea though, will be watching hoping you post the results!
Todd - Networking is an important part of business, so I look forward to seeing how this works for you. Great idea.
Great points, Todd. Generating business through other business associates and vendors is something I am slowly working on. It sounds like you have a great plan. Best of luck!
I'm looking forward to hearing how this turns out. I think it is a great idea and a great way to create synergy in our industry.
Todd - this is a great idea. I have used several outside vendors for different series of artciles, but not a mortgage person. I'llbe interested to hear how this works for you. Also had several folk swho said they were interested but nothing ever developed and I didn't nag.
Jeff
I network with new home councilors, mortgage brokers, and most importantly, title agencies and real estate attorneys. You never know who you will meet through networking!
Todd; 2000 posts!!! That completely blows my mind. Thanks for the inspiration. Nice post also.
Very good post Todd, but like some others, my requests were not followed thru after much excitement. Getting some folks to blog is still rough here in Akron Ohio! Ahhh, the good, old, late on everything new, Mid West!
I started blogging about local business during the contest but I wonder how many people read my blogs and whether or not that information would be interesting to anyone who already lives in the areas I serve. Anyone getting lead from this sort of post?
Jenny - I've only done a few local biz profiles but both of them have been good for me as well as helpful to them. No deals that I can point to but each of them, posted my blog posting on their Facebook and/or Twitter accounts. I have added at least 10 new LOCAL followers on Twitter in the last 2 weeks from these business profiles as well as establishing a good solid relationship with two local business owners that I did not really know before. I plan on doing 2 per month. It's really, imo, a win-win. The business owner gets a little free publicity and I build up my SOI. If do 2 per month, I could add a few hundred people to my local SOI over a year - which is only a good thing.
Hi Todd...Great Post, Team Work creates synergy..then the magic happens, now to turn this team work into Paying it Forward...then we'll have a Wow Effect !
Todd,
It sounds like a great idea for networking that will be beneficial to both! Keep us posted.
Todd,
It sounds like a great idea for networking that will be beneficial to both! Keep us posted.
Todd - As usual, you are on the cutting edge. Keep up the good work! I actually wanted to add a mortgage person to my group blog here provided by AR, but I couldn't find anyone that would do it.
Great Idea Todd - The idea reminds me of a retweet - where a message hits multiple spheres. The other contributors will likely share their content with their sphere, effectively reaching more people. Everyone wins. Right on!
It would be better for agents to post MY marketing blogs correct? Not the other way around?
What a great idea, Todd. How do you go about setting up the outside blog so that others can post to it?
Mama Liz
Way to go!.....Bully for you.
Patricia/Seacoast NH
Great idea. I'll have to put it to work right away....
I am trying to learn more about blogging and social networking. However I much prefer talking on the phone or face to face.
Todd, Great suggestions! It's very helpful that people who are as successful at this as you are will take the time to teach the rest of us who are just getting started at it.
It probably saves people like me a few years of trial and error to discover the additional ways of getting exposure and very much appreciated.
Great Idea Todd. I asked someone about even sitting through a video interview that I could post and they weren't sure. I know I probably couldn't get them to write a blog. Will have to revisit that invitation again and see if I can get a different answer.
What a great idea Todd! I think I'll use it too ! It will be on my agenda for tomorrow, I think it will work ! Must be the right person though with expertise where I don't have it.
Great idea! I've noticed another competitor in my area doing the same thing -- I need to get on board. :-)
I had thought of doing this a while back but never put the idea into motion. Thanks for reminding me of it again. I think it is a great idea...just need to see who I can get to help write the content.
I would be curious to see how this experiment pans out. Keep us posted.
Todd, great idea, please keep us posted. congrat's on 2000 post, your crazy.
Thanks, good reminder that blogging and connecting with service providers along the real estate spectrum is a value asset for all. I've been meaning to blog more and I'm learning everyday that it's good for business for all.
I have been wanting to do this and you just gave me my confirmation to do it...Thanks!
That is a great idea. A mortgage professional could give insight on the finance side of the real estate transaction that can be very helpful to new clients. Just like a Realtor can give great insight on the transactional aspects of purchasing a home that a mortgage doesn't necessarily need to deal with.
Shirley - I would say 90% of agents don't do enough, our business is all about who you know.
Rebecca - That happens often, but if you connect with enough, eventually you will find that right one and when you do watch them shine.
Robert - You never know who is ready until you ask!
Kathryn - That is exactly what it is about, each and every connection is another potential buyer or seller.
Steve - Sharing your SEO with others is in some cases as good as giving cash!
Todd, I like the idea and the post! Maybe you could even consider calling the chamber of commerce President and ask them if they would or could contribute. Chances are they know and come into contact with a lot of people they could send your way :)
Now here is how I can help you! I am a Realtor in the Foothills of Yuma, AZ. I have sold winter homes to a few of your locals, if you hear of or know anyone planning on buying a winter home here in Sunny Yuma, Arizona, PLEASE refer them my way! You won't be disappointed!
Thank you again for the though provoking post!!
Have a Perfect Day!!
Todd, does this mean you are setting up the outside blog for multiple people or they are just contributing? I'd be more inclined to try it if I could keep with my single blog first to see how it worked - if they would actually contribute. Please do follow up on this to let us know how it works - I know you will :)
Terry or Bonnie - I just hope it works, I may have found a flaw this morning that I hope Activerain can fix ASAP.
Chris - If this works it will be a win-win for everyone involved. A great business building tool as well as a networking tool.
Christine - That is all I want to do is to help others. A lot of the businesses, I loved, but that doesn't mean I'll back to them. I may have went with someone from work, but the rest of my family wouldn't enjoy. But, still if they have good service and treat me right, I'll plug them and let them plug themselves!
Rene - Isn't this what Social Media is all about?
Vickie - I may not get business out of it directly, but I will be helping the community.
