Since I came down to Florida
to see some good friends (Katerina Gasset and George
Paukert), they decided to show
me how good of friends they were.
Nestor and Katerina Gasset
took
me to this place called Smokey Bones. Now, I have to say, we need a
place like
this in Tigard! THIS PLACE ROCKED!
Now, I have to say I may
have a heart attack in 20 years because of that meal,
but I can say that it will be well worth it. I’m told if
either I eat healthy
or not, I’m still going to die, so I might as well enjoy what I eat and
I
certainly did enjoy eating at Smokey Bones!
I just wish I had a
chance to sample more than what I got to because what I had
was awesome, but there were so many choices it took me
almost 10 minutes to
figure out what I wanted at that moment.
When I finally did decide, my
choice was these smoked wings, they double hickory smoke them and then
they are golden fried to order and I have to say it
worked! Though sticky,
it was awesome,(But, wings wouldn't be good if they weren't sticky) but
they were even prepared for that. As soon as we were done,
they brought wet wipes over so we could clean up.
So, if you are ever on
east coast, it looks like they have Smokey Bones up and
down the east coast and I suggest you check this place out if you like
great
food.

We have Smokey Bones here in Tampa as well. Yum Yum and the decor is so cool. So if you ever get in the neighborhood....

I can tell you people that place was gooooood, I do need to try to figure out how to make it at home, because I've never heard of that recipe before and I WANT MORE!
We have one here the first time I tried it someone brought it to a party and I agree great food.
Todd - We have one in the next town over, so if you are ever in MA, you know who to call. Actually, now that I think of it there are three of them that are not too far from where I live. It is a popular chain.
And since I am the healthy living person of the family- I chose the grilled salmon and steamed broccoli and coleslaw! Of course, Nestor is NOT supposed to eat like that, he was supposed to choose the salmon too but he just loves the ribs they make there. They used to serve Buffalo but took it off the menu, that is what we used to eat there. Then they had this great vegan burger that they grilled and it was so tasty, that is what I went to order and they said they took that off the menu too! I guess people here are still not ready for healthy alternatives- back to Whole Foods I go for eating healthy!

Funny how each section of the country has differnt BBQ. Looks like some good stuff.
Steve - I was in Houston on a layover, but only for an hour. Maybe next time, but I promise it will not be in the summer! (I can't handle the heat)
