Often during the winter the kids feel cooped up and in Tigard and all of the Pacific Northwest there just aren’t a lot of days you can go out to a park during the winter. (It is just way too wet) So, when you get two days in a row of sun and the play structures dry out and the ground is frozen so you won’t sink in the mud, you go to a park and that is exactly what we did!
Northview Park in Tigard, Oregon is located just on the edge of Tigard and Beaverton near the end of Walnut Street, just before it crosses Barrows road behind Albertsons. You really wouldn’t know it was there unless someone told you about it or you were lost. I found it by accident while showing homes a few days prior. So, I marked it on my map of parks to visit and when the chance arose, we piled into the car to let the kids unwind.
My youngest loved this park as she has always loved tire swings! She did admit that it was little hard for her to hold the chain on the swing because it was 28 degrees out. She still had fun though, my son took advantage of the length of the park and flew his new plane he got from Santa. Turned out there was plenty of length in the park, but one wind gust took it to the left and it flew right in to a neighbor’s yard. (Very nice gentleman lived there, I think this has happened before – lol)
