For the past 5 years my family has been spending
an early
Saturday morning in December at Washington
Square in Tigard,
Oregon, all to get
the chance to get that first glimpse of the jolly one himself, Santa Claus.
The event draws hundreds of kids every year and everyone gets to see Santa and also there are plenty of chances for pictures as well. But, even before that starts, you get to do crafts that the mall has set out for the kids. Then almost every year, and I am hoping this year is no exception, they have Mrs. Claus perform magic tricks for the kids. She even gets some of the kids involved in the show all before her husband comes out to the cheer of all the kids.
Then it is time for breakfast and every year they have a huge buffet style breakfast set up, and every year I’m amazed that they never seem to run out of food and we never walk away hungry. The best part about it is that it is only $5 per person. (Kids under 2 are free)
Every year the staff at Washington Square puts on this wonderful event and every year we are in line on the day the tickets go sale because we don’t want to miss out because they do go quickly.
