No good deed goes unpunished! I
believe that is how the saying goes. This morning despite
feeling very very sick, I got be in court because of my good deeds a
couple weeks ago. What happened? Well, I came across a lady in a
parking lot that was hiding behind her car and looking very scared. She
didn't see me, but I saw her from across the parking lot.
I went over and asked her
if everything was alright. She told me that she was being
stalked by her ex-husband who had a restraining order against him. Then
within 30 seconds of that here he came around the corner and slammed on
his breaks in front on the street in front of us and gave her the
middle finger and drove off.
I told her to call the
police and I thought that would be the end of it, but this
wonderful gentleman decided to come back twice more and the police
requested I stay as a witness and that is when last week I was nice
enough to get a subpoena for my troubles.
So for my trouble, I get this wonderful Subpoena from the courts and now it looks like because I put so much effort to be in court that I'm going to have to go back to the emergency room today, because clearly I was not ready to get out of bed. So remember this next time you try to do a good dead for someone it may end up being a large pain in your _____. Now, would I do it again? Of course, but today I'm just frustrated.
