Imagine yourself staring down a
seven layer chocolate cake
after already eating a great meal. That was what happened
to me last week after
having lunch with my fellow Rainer Jill
Watts out of Vancouver, Washington.
She wanted to meet up learn a few
things more about blogging
and pictures and Activerain in general and so we decided to met over
lunch. Our
first choice didn’t have WIFI, they lose, but then I came up with
Rose’s in
Orchards, it was right in between both of us and they offered free WIFI
so we
could eat and work on Activerain at the same time.
I ordered their fish and chips
and though it didn’t fill me, that was alright,
because I knew what was coming. You know when you go to
roses, you aren’t going
for the meal, you are going for the deserts. Though the meal was
excellent, it
just wasn’t filling enough and I think they know that when you order it
or they
wouldn’t be selling so many deserts each and every day. (Heck that is
why they
are famous, along with their dinner plate sized cinnamon rolls)
I really enjoyed my meeting with
Jill and I do have to say
if you are ever up in Vancouver check out the Rose’s there,
but I do know Roses
has been a Portland classic for over 50 years and you don’t stay around
that
long unless you are doing something right and they are! Making us leave
full
after eating every bit of that 7 layer chocolate cake.
